Washing Machine Repair Austin (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website and the phone dispatch line listed on it. We are a free dispatch service that connects callers with independent, licensed contractors who repair washing machines in the Austin, Texas area. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit the site or call the dispatch line, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. Read it together with our Terms of Service.
The Short Version
- This site has no forms. We collect most information when you call.
- Your call is routed to an independent contractor, who receives your phone number and whatever you share on the call.
- Calls may be recorded.
- Google Ads and call-tracking tools use cookies to measure which ads lead to calls.
- Texas residents can access, correct, or delete their data and opt out of targeted advertising.
01 Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Information you share on a call. Your name, phone number, service address or ZIP code, washer brand and model, a description of the problem, and anything else you choose to tell us or the contractor.
- Call data. Your caller ID number; the date, time, and length of the call; the tracking number you dialed; your general location based on area code; and, where recording is enabled, call recordings and transcripts.
- Device and usage data. IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring page, and time of visit.
- Advertising and attribution data. Values passed in the page address, such as ad click identifiers, campaign tags, and the brand name used to customize the page heading, plus cookie identifiers set by Google and our call-tracking provider.
We do not collect payment card information on this website. Please do not share sensitive personal data, such as health information or government ID numbers, on a dispatch call.
02 Cookies & Call Tracking
- Google Ads. We use Google’s tag (gtag.js) to measure whether an ad click leads to a call. Google sets cookies to do this and handles the data it collects under its own privacy policy. You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- Dynamic number insertion. Our call-tracking provider may show a phone number unique to your visit so we can tell which ad or search led to your call. It uses cookies or similar browser storage to do this.
- Your controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works and shows a default phone number.
Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no common standard for these signals, the site does not currently respond to them.
03 How We Use Information
We use personal data to:
- Route your call to an available contractor who serves your area.
- Coordinate your service request, including calling you back if a call drops.
- Measure ad performance and see which ads, keywords, and campaigns lead to calls.
- Track routed calls for billing with contractors and advertising partners.
- Train staff, resolve disputes, verify service, and prevent fraud and abuse.
- Comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service.
04 How We Share Information
- Contractors. The independent contractor your call is routed to receives your phone number and the details you share so they can quote and perform the repair. Contractors handle your information under their own privacy practices, not this policy.
- Service providers. Vendors that provide call tracking, call routing, telephony, hosting, and analytics for us, under contracts that limit how they may use your data.
- Advertising partners. Google, to measure conversions and improve ad delivery.
- Legal and safety. When required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of you, us, or others.
- Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
We may be paid when we route your call to a contractor. That routing is how we provide the service you ask for when you call. We do not sell your personal data to data brokers.
05 Call Recording
Calls to the dispatch line may be recorded and monitored by us, our call-tracking provider, or the contractor who receives your call. We use recordings for training, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and service verification.
Where a recording notice plays at the start of a call, continuing the call means you consent to the recording. If you do not want to be recorded, tell the person you are speaking with or end the call.
06 Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs. Call logs and recordings are deleted on our call-tracking provider’s retention schedule unless we need them longer to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation.
07 Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
08 Your Texas Privacy Rights
If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act may give you the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal data and access it.
- Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Delete personal data you provided or that we obtained about you.
- Get a copy of your personal data in a portable format.
